As a leading contemporary crafts organisation Devon Guild of Craftsmen has reached a landmark birthday. This year, to mark 60 years of the organisation, Members will use the title “Celebrate” to articulate the notions of festivity and reflection that such milestones bring. Deborah Treliving’s Sketchbooks showing in “Life Illustrated” Devon Guild of Craftsmen Exhibition
Friday 2 October – Sunday 15 November 2015 10am – 5.30pm daily
“Sketchbooks provide a glimpse into the workings and inspirations of craftspeople, artists and designers. Sometimes rough or polished, playful or serious, often unseen; sketchbooks are a visual diary of a creative life – its risks, lessons, mistakes and dreams are all brought together alongside tea spills, bus tickets and shopping lists. Showing finished works as well as sketchbooks and maquettes from makers and artists, and complemented by interviews with exhibitors, this will be an illuminating exhibition for all ages which will encourage viewers to take time to contemplate the creative process.” Devon Guild of Craftsmen.
