Sun Flower Harvest. The collagraph and carborundum plate becomes a work of art in its own right.

Sun Flower Harvest. The collagraph and carborundum plate becomes a work of art in its own right.

Deborah is inspired by colour in nature as in the glow of sun on a field of corn, the delicacy of translucent magenta rose petals or the intensity of bluebells at dusk, a harvest moon rising over the sea or sunlight dewy grass. In the making of her plates Deborah will contrast coarse carborundum (silicon carbide) with smooth plastic to create the beautiful velvety texture in her prints, and uses traditional high quality oil based inks to make her colours sing.
