Printmaking without a Press A two day course for beginners and those with some printmaking experience. This course is designed to give you confidence in the techniques, and experience to be able to continue printmaking at home on the kitchen table! Introduction to materials and processes, experimenting with mark-making, realising and producing monotype prints from your drawings, using Caligo safe wash relief inks in monochrome and primary colours, printing onto thin papers.
Introduction to lino cutting and printing without a press using a Japanese baren. Realising and producing relief prints from your drawings, using Caligo safe wash relief inks in monochrome and primary colours, printing onto thin papers and hand burnishing with a Japanese baren to make the print. There will also be the opportunity to use the printing press.
